The San Diego District Attorney’s office will remain prosecuting a Scripps Ranch girl who is charged killed her mother. The lawyers for 15-year-old Heather D’Aoust were seeking to have the DA’s office removed because they had possession of privileged psychiatric documents. Today Judge Melinda Lasater issued a ruling keeping the DA on the case, not dismissing it, and not sanctioning the prosecution. Lasater wrote in her ruling that less than half the 126 documents in question were privileged and only one was “plainly privileged and confidential.”
