Lucia and I will miss your smiling face. You helped the bad news go down with a little sugar. It does not seem like you are old enough to retire. We are around the same age, so I guess so. God bless you on your future adventures.

    Hi,
My name is Adam Trout and I grew up in San Diego. I am 25 years of age and I can remember watching you as a young child when I didn’t even like the news and all I wanted to do was watch cartoons. I served and the military and was away from San Diego for 6+ years but I came home and still remembered your face and name. Even though our city has changed a lot, it was warming to have that at home feel of such a trusted and skilled news team. I think I will always be able to recognize your face and your name, and now that you are leaving, I will miss it, but the memory will live on. Thank You soo much for making our big city feel like such a small town and have such a great come home vibe.
    Sincerely,
    Adam Trout

    Carol,

I just wanted to let you know that you will be greatly missed in our home every night. I always appreciated your kind demeanor, professionalism, and that you were always well prepared. You always seemed as though you genuinely cared and had a great passion for what you did, and what you did was excellent, one of a kind, and showed true passion. I enjoyed the series on the stories you covered throughout the years; a memory lane for all of us and you were right there with us every step of the way. You always seemed so genuine like a neighbor and that is what can’t be duplicated.

I was so happy when Kimberely Hunt came back because you made the perfect team and compliment each other well. I can’t help but wonder if you felt pressure as a woman in the media getting older- and perhaps wanted to leave like a good athlete at the height of your career. I felt you had many good years left as a co anchor and hope the station did not push you into early retirement. ( I know you said that was not the case).

You are an inspiration to so many! You will definately be missed!………………. Sincerely The Johnson Family

  5. Scarlett says:

The news is the news, pretty much the same on a lot of channels, but without you, and Loren,
there is not much of a reason to tune in anymore. You will be painfully missed.
Off to the internet news now. Wish you didn’t have to go. Best to you, always.

  6. Pamella Berry says:

Carol you have been a wonderful anchor through the years - always dignified and I wonder if your retirement has anything to do with ABC becoming the government’s television channel? I intend to boycott ABC entirely and frankly, find I didn’t watch it much anyway except for you on the news.
With you retiring I shan’t feel so badly about my boycott.
The best of luck to you for your future and thank you for all those excellent years as anchor.

    Carol,

All of San Diego will miss you! My husband and I moved from Escondido in Sept. 2007 and now live in Post Falls, ID. We love it here, and are sorry that we didn’t move sooner.

I heard you speak at Emmanuel Faith Christian Church, and immediately gained a new found respect for you. I watched you on the news since you arrived all those years ago! I was lucky enough to hear you speak again at San Diego IRC a few years ago. I must say that I do miss 10 News . The ABC affiliate in Spokane is good, but just not the same. National news up here doesn’t get reported like in San Diego, but the news staff is enjoyable.

Here’s wishing you well in your retirement. If you get to travel, you should travel to the beautiful Coeur d’Alene area. It’s really beautiful. The lakes are really nice for swimming!!!!!

    Good luck and best wishes.
    Sharon Foraker

  11. Carrie Cordero says:

I was born and raised in San Diego. Last summer I moved to Arizona. After 32 years of America’s Finest City, and 28 years of Carol Le Beau, I will find it difficult to soften up to much more. I grew up seeing your timeless face, and as I grew I realized just how transparent you have been to the people of San Diego. I watched you speak at Horizon Christian Fellowship with Miles
McPherson about 10 years ago and always admired how you lived out your faith in a not so faithful arena. I am so sad to see you go, but I’m sure you have wonderful plans for your future. So many memories and events that surrounded my lifetime have your face and voice in my mind. I appreciate you. I hope one day our paths will cross. Best wishes and To God Be The Glory For The Things He Has Done.
