If I were to give a commencement speech I would start by asking the graduates “What happened in the news today?” If this were a high school graduation I wouldn’t be surprised if I didn’t get a response. Which would make me wonder, how are these graduates going to get anywhere if they don’t know what’s going on around them right now? I would ask them to dig into their pockets, pull out their cell phones, and look at how much power they have right in their own hands just waiting to be discovered. And given the fact it’s the graduates’ day I would remind them how they’re making news by graduating. And there’s so much good news they can start making just by getting informed.
